About

An online scientific publication

Founded in 2014, the Revue Juridique étudiante de l’Université de Montréal (R.J.E.U.M.) is a scientific e-journal aimed at the diffusion of law students’ research. Managed by students, for students, it stands out from other journals by the rigor of its editorial process. Through its vocation to spark interest for research and legal argumentation, the Revue hopes to consolidate the position of scholarly writing within a jurist’s academic journey.

... and much more!

The Revue fulfills its mission by carrying out a range of activities aimed at students at all levels. In 2020, the Revue has organized an essay competition open to all law students in Quebec. The competition is preceded by four formative workshops on legal research and writing, text revision and the topic of the competition. The competition culminates in an evaluation by an anonymous professorial jury that determines the winners at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Thanks to an engaged student community, the Revue has been able to establish a columnist program for its blog in which students from all Canadian law schools publish a blog post on a monthly basis. The Revue thus provides them with an opportunity to stay abreast of current legal developments while addressing contemporary issues in a critical but concise manner. The success of this formula has led to the establishment of various partnerships with law committees and other blogs that also contribute to the sharing of knowledge and ideas on the Revue's blog while benefiting from the resources of the latter, which enable them to publish quality content.

Finally, the Revue brings together the student, faculty and legal communities by organizing conferences that aim to create dynamic spaces for brainstorming and discussing together.

In the development of each project, the Revue tries to offer new opportunities for law students to get involved, whether by creating new positions within the team or by seeking initiatives that would spark the interest of many students.
